Many great raffle prizes!!

Fund raising Fun Run to aid Melanie Christian with mounting medical bills.
Melanie Christian was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Breast Cancer in Sept 2011. She was accepted into a Research Program at UNC Chapel Hill and has almost completed the treatment regimen: 5 months of weekly Chemotherapy, Mastectomy, and 5 weeks of daily Radiation.

In the fall, she will have 2 or 3 more surgeries for reconstruction.  The great news is that Melanie had a “total response” to the treatments and the cancer is GONE!!!  And so are the funds!!!!!  Melanie is blessed to be employed by TD Bank and has been provided very good insurance coverage.  However, her portion of the medical expenses is still staggering.

Melanie is a single mom of two gorgeous girls – Cade and Cole. She has had as much fun with cancer as you can possibly have.  She has used her hair loss as an excuse to rock a Mullet for a while then shave it and let her daughters’ first and third grade classes paint on her head.  Her faith and positive attitude during this journey have been unfaltering.  She has been surrounded by friends, support, and so much laughter……….
