4th July Celebrations in Asheville NC and Black Mountain NC and surrounding towns
Downtown Asheville NC has wonderful July 4th celebrations, as do many of the surrounding towns. How will you choose!
Ingles is supporting the City of Asheville’s 4th of July Celebration for 2009. The festivities start at 1 p.m. at Pack Square and along College Street in Downtown Asheville. The fun will continue throughout the night, with music and games, and a grand finale fireworks display at 10 p.m. Check out our Asheville town square here.
The day will feature live music from some of Asheville’s hottest bands along with a wide range of family activities, ranging from free craft projects and old-fashioned family games to inflatable rides and a variety of food from area vendors. Check out our general information about Asheville NC
More Celebrations close to Asheville in surrounding towns
• Black Mountain/Montreat: Montreat hosts its famous parade in late morning. Black Mountain will have family fun and fireworks that night. Black Mountain is 15 minutes’ drive East of Asheville and is known as the restaurant town. Well worth a visit. Visit the Montreat town hall here. Visit the Black Mountain townhall on our website.
• Weaverville: Downtown celebration offers food, music and a big fireworks show at 10 p.m. Visit the Weaverville townhall here
• Brevard: The downtown celebration starts with the 5K Firecracker Run and includes the 36th annual Fine Arts and Crafts Showcase, a classic car show, music throughout the day at the gazebo, a 1 p.m. bike parade, a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 3 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
• Cherokee: Fireworks fly at 9 p.m. at the Cherokee Indian fairgrounds.
• Columbus: The 35th annual Fabulous Fourth celebration starts at 10 a.m. and runs until midnight with lots of music, crafts, carnival rides and a big fireworks show.
• Fontana Dam: The Fourth in the Forest fireworks show starts at dark.
• Franklin: The celebration starts at 11 a.m. and includes games, helicopter rides, horseshoe tournament and music. Fireworks will be at dark.
• Hendersonville: The downtown parade starts at 1 p.m.; the annual Fabulous Fourth celebration starts at 2 p.m. at Jackson Park. Fireworks at dark.
• Mars Hill: The town and the local Veterans of Foreign Wars are teaming up for a celebration with food served starting at noon. Music and fireworks at dark.
• Sylva: Celebration starts at 6:30 p.m. downtown, with music and fireworks at dark.
• Waynesville: The Stars and Stripes Celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Main Street with music and sidewalk sales. Check out our Waynesville town square here
